ABOUT ZWAP CYCLING CLUB

ZWAP = Zwifters Against Parkinson´s Disease

ZWAP´s purpose is to promote cycling as an activity for people with Parkinson's disease.

ZWAP started as an online cycling club for people with Parkinson´s disease in 2022, organizing exercises through the digital training platform ZWIFT. On World Parkinson´s day (11 April) in 2023 the first global ZWAP session on ZWIFT was arranged, and this event was repeated again in 2024.

Now almost every day of the week, some days also several times a day, selected ZWAP-members runs organized exercises on ZWIFT. Participation is free!

ZWAP's vision is for everybody with Parkinson´s disease to participate in cycling, because science has proven it's good for us.

TEAM WEST COAST

...for an unforgettable cycling journey from Seattle to Phoenix. Spanning four stages, riders can join at any point along the route.

The full journey covers 3364km (2089 miles) over 37 days, traversing the breathtaking Pacific Coast Highway and the stunning Sonoran Desert.

A dedicated core of 18 riders, including 13 with Parkinson’s, is already committed to different stages, of which 10 riders for the entire ride.

We are still actively recruiting participants wanting to do the full-journey ride from Seattle or starting from Stage 3 (San Francisco) or Stage 4 (Los Angeles). The final team arriving in Phoenix is expected to include 25-30 riders.

Stay tuned as we share updates about this extraordinary journey!
