Setting up everything

The ideal setup is to have three devices:

1. A pad, laptop, PC or AppleTV where you run the Zwift application (with the orange icon)
2. A smartphone to run the Zwift Companion application (with the turquoise icon)
3. A smartphone, pad or laptop with built in mic and camera, or a PC with separate webcam, where you run the Zoom application

In the picture below #1 is the iPad in the middle, with wireless connection to the smart bike or smart trainer, and on the screen the main Zwift view during a ride. #2 is my regular smartphone at the bottom, with the Companion app open and working as an extended dashboard together with the Zwift mainscreen. #3 is an older laptop at the top, running the Zoom application.

Having a good solution for running the Zoom application is a very important part of our ZWAP events, as we are always running a parallel video chat, which is very much appreciated by everybody.

Many are using their smartphone for Zoom - works perfectly, but then you can't effectively use the Zwift Companion app at the same time, while riding.

Sound and microphone

Using the built in sound and camera of the device running Zoom works quite good for many. The noice from the smart bike or smart trainer is almost always removed effectively by the Zoom software.

However many prefer to wear headphones, connected to the device running Zoom.

Best result you also get when the sound on your Zwift device is turned off or very low (you really don't need all the gaming sounds when joining a ZWAP event)
